Men's Golf Wins Malone Fall Classic with Historic Performance

09/05/26

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Malone University men's golf team was victorious at their home tournament on Saturday, the Malone Fall Classic at Tannenhauf Golf Club. The Pioneers went 10-under as a team with a two-round score of 566 (282-284). The 36-hole total just missed the school record score of 558. Malone defeated second-place Wheaton College by 27 strokes.

Fletcher Cravens followed up his impressive round one with another dominant showing on Saturday for the second and final round. He won the individual medalist honors with a two-day score of 138 (68-70) and was 6-under par. Five birdies led to an under-par in and out with 35 on each side of the course. He had ten birdies and four bogeys in total for the tournament.

Carter Miller maintained his spot in second on the leaderboard after he matched his day one score of 70 on Saturday for a 36-hole 140 (70-70). Just as one day ago, Miller had four birdies on his scorecard. Alexander Eckstein and Brady Johnson matched their round one scores as well and finished at even-par 144 (72-72). Jaxon Rinkes from the B-team also rose into that tie for third at 144 with a 69 on Saturday (75-69). Five of the top six spots on the leaderboard belonged to Malone.

Ryan Yoder slipped down the leaderboard slightly and concluded play at 149 (72-77). His performance was still good enough to tie for 12th overall. Deagan Beaber was inside the top-ten as a B-team standout as well with a 148 (75-73).

Next weekend, the Pioneers will be back in action at the Mount Union Fall Invitational beginning on September 12. That event will also be contested at Tannenhauf Golf Club.
