CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University men's golf B-team took part in the Cavalier Fall Invitational at Glenmoor Country Club on Thursday morning and finished fifth overall with a team score of 332. Conditions were difficult, especially early on, but Malone powered through. Wayne State University pulled away from the pack in the final holes with a 301.
 
Andrew Fredenburg led the way for the Pioneers with an 81. He started his day with a birdie on hole 16 and finished strong with a birdie on hole 12. Alfie Craker recorded a birdie on hole 12 as well en route to a score of 82. Thomas Mankowski fired an 84.
 
The duo of Ryan Yoder and Gage Bonifant tied for the final scoring spot for the Pioneers at 85. Yoder tallied a team-high three birdies in an up-and-down day, all on the front nine. Bonifant was a steady presence throughout the round.
 
Next up for Malone men's golf is the Crossroads Cup beginning on September 28. Ashland University hosts the event at Virtues Golf Club.
