Rose and Cantrell Selected as All-Conference Honorees

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Malone University softball team has two representatives listed as Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Season Award winners. Junior pitcher Mia Rose was named a First Team All-Conference honoree and sophomore outfielder Morgan Cantrell appeared on the Second Team.
 
Rose, a native of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, has earned her second career All-Conference award after she was Second Team in 2025. The last First Team All-Conference award winner for the Pioneers came in the 2021 season. Rose was the ace of a pitching staff that was second in the G-MAC in team ERA at 2.85 and the team's 265 strikeouts is the most in the conference.
 
Individually, Rose held a 2.01 ERA for the season with a 14-11 record in 150.0 innings of work. She tallied a league-high 137 punchouts in the circle and her .217 batting average against is among the top in the G-MAC. Exclusively in conference play, Rose's ERA is lowered to 1.95, good for third overall. Her 68 strikeouts against conference opponents are the most of anyone in 2026.
 
Not only was Rose dominant in the circle, but also in the batter's box. She batted .308 on the season with three homeruns and a team-high 30 RBIs. In the G-MAC, Rose was a .275 hitter with two homeruns and 15 RBIs.
 
For Cantrell, it is her first All-Conference award as a sophomore after she entered this season as a transfer student-athlete. The Ashville, Ohio product led the team with a .347 batting average and .954 OPS. She recorded a team-high five triples and was 18-for-20 on stolen base attempts.
 
Her numbers only improved against G-MAC competition. She was top-ten in the league with a 1.192 OPS in 24 conference contests and held a .385 batting average. All five of her three-base hits came against league teams and was the most in conference play in 2026. She was also tied for third in the G-MAC with 13 walks.
