LILBURN, Ga. - The Malone University women's basketball team is represented once again in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coaches Poll as one of ten teams receiving votes.
Malone enters the postseason having won each of their last seven games and 11-of-12 dating back to January 17. In the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament, the Pioneers earned the two seed and will play the seventh-seeded Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers on Tuesday, March 3 at 5:30 P.M.
Inside Osborne Hall, Malone is 12-2 overall this season and their 23-5 record is the best regular season mark in the program's NCAA Division II era. In their most recent game, the Pioneers were able to retain the Mayors' Cup for the third consecutive season with a 67-58 triumph over the Walsh University Cavaliers.
Malone is led by senior
Erin Kaufman, who is averaging 16.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Junior forward
Elena Oliver is by her side in the post and guards
Irene Maroto (junior),
Brinn Hunt (senior) and
Anna Krupa (senior) surround her as starters.
All-Conference selections will be announced by the G-MAC on Friday, March 6.
