Pioneers Place Third at G-MAC STUNT Championship Tournament

03/28/26

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Malone University STUNT team concluded the conference portion of their 2026 season at Davenport University on Saturday. The Pioneers competed at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) STUNT Championships and ended up finishing third in the league tournament.

Malone (16-8) were defeated in the Semifinal Round by the host Panthers of Davenport University (13-3) by a score of 26-3. Davenport went on to win the Tournament Championship after going unbeaten in their ten conference regular season games and went 2-0 on Saturday. In the Consolation Game, Malone was victorious over Tiffin University (13-11), 30-23.

MALONE vs DAVENPORT RECAP:
Davenport took control of the game early with 4-0 sweeps in partner stunts, pyramids and tosses as well as jumps and tumbling. The 12-0 advantage was more than enough to claim victory, but Malone would not go down without a fight in team routine.

The Pioneers lost 3-0 on team routine seven, but on routines two, four and one, the team was able to grab one point in each. At the final whistle, the Panthers moved on to the tournament championship final game by a score of 26-3.

MALONE vs TIFFIN RECAP:
The action was not done for the Pioneers, however as they competed in the Consolation Game against Tiffin. That contest came immediately after senior Megan Reifsnyder was announced as a Second Team All-Conference recipient for the season.

Malone took a slight lead in quarter one by way of a 1-0 victory in routine five of partner stunts. After one period, the score was 5-4, but at halftime, the score was tied at 8-8.

After jumps and tumbling, the Pioneers were back in front 12-11 after the team won or tied in three of the four rounds of competition. The major difference in scoring came during team routine. Malone tied or outscored Tiffin in all four team routine rounds en route to the 30-23 victory.

UP NEXT:
The Pioneers have an opportunity to continue their season should they qualify for the 2026 College STUNT National Championship. The participants will be announced on April 8 for the event in Nashville, Tennessee on April 23-26.
