INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second week in a row, Sydney Atkinson of the Malone University women's lacrosse team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.
 
The sophomore goalie from Chardon, Ohio was selected as the back-to-back athlete of the week by the conference after a 14-8 victory against Point Park University in the team's home opener. Malone is now 3-0 on the season.
 
Atkinson made 13 saves on 24 shots faced with a .619 save percentage on the afternoon. She leads the G-MAC in goals against average (5.20) and save percentage (.639) and is fourth in all of NCAA DII.
 
The Pioneers host the University of Charleston in their lone game of the week on Thursday, March 5 beginning at 1:00 P.M.
