Malone Women's Golf Signs Three

03/12/26

CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University women's golf team and Head Coach Bill Eddins have made three new additions to the squad for the fall of 2026. Jorja Ary, Ava Miller and Ella Ridgway will join the Pioneers next season after signing with the program.

Ary is a Marysville High School graduate and a district qualifier the past two seasons. She was her team's MVP in the fall under Head Coach Juliet Litzel. An All-Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) selection, Ary was also an Honorable Mention recipient in the ultra-competitive Central District. She boasts outstanding low rounds of 35 for nine and 76 for 18 holes during her career. She is the daughter of Mandy Foreman and Jason Ary and plans to major in Psychology while at Malone.

Ary is an excellent student and a four-year OCC Scholar Athlete honoree. She is a member of Student Council and a monthly volunteer at the Hope Center of Marysville. The Hope Center helps people by providing resources and referrals for families and individuals in need. "Volunteering at the Hope Center has taught me so many things that have helped me grow as a person," Ary said. "Helping people in need is my way of giving back directly to the community. It also gives me a sense of purpose and makes my day seeing a smile on their face."

"We are blessed with the addition of Jorja to our program," Coach Eddins stated. "She is an exceptional young lady who has tremendous upside on the golf course and someone who will only continue to improve with experience. Jorja is a very hard worker and she will be a great fit for our team with her work ethic, positive attitude and contagious personality."

Miller is from Rootstown High School and she is a four-year letter winner of the girl's golf team coached by Matt Just. She is a four-time Scholar Athlete, a three-time MVP, and a two-time First Team All-Conference performer in the Portage Trail Conference (PTC) and the Chagrin Valley Conference (CVC) during her high school career. Miller earned Second Team All-Northeast District as well as a senior. She is the daughter of Chris and Kathy Miller and will major in Zoo and Wildlife Biology.

Miller is a three-year member of the National Honor Society and is the sitting Fundraising Committee Chair of NHS. She has logged over 120 hours of community service and holds an outstanding 3.8 grade point average. An interesting fact about Miller is that she is also a drag racer at Quaker City Motorsports Park in Salem, Ohio. She has been racing since 2021 and has had 16 final round appearances with seven career wins!

"We are so happy that Ava is coming to Malone," Coach Eddins shared. "She is an awesome young lady who has really improved her golf game and continues to work hard and get better. Ava is an excellent student and is so excited to study Zoology here. She has a great personality and loves to serve and will be a great fit for our university and golf program."

Ridgway is from New Philadelphia High School and golfed for Coach Brian Migoni. She just completed her second year of competition and to say she has picked the game up quickly is an understatement. Ridgway was named an All-Ohio Cardinal Conference (OCC) First Team selection in the fall of 2025 and was also named a First Team Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) Tri-County player. She was also tabbed as a First Team member in the Eastern District. Ridgway culminated her high school career with an eighth-place finish at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I Districts at Lancaster Golf Club.

Ridgway even had a magical moment as a young golfer in June of 2025 when she recorded her first hole-in-one on the Par 3 #5 at Oak Shadows in New Philadelphia. She hit a 6-iron from 130 yards to sink her ace.

"We are thrilled Ella is joining our team. She is driven and has a positive mental attitude, not to mention, a genuine love for the game. Ella is very motivated to improve and compete at the Division II level of college golf. Beyond the course, Ella is an exceptional student and wears her faith on her sleeve. She is a great Malone fit," Eddins beamed.

Ella is an Academic All-Ohio student and takes CCP classes at Kent State Tuscarawas. She is the daughter of Adam and Maggie Ridgway and will major in Early Childhood Education.
