Ashtyn Rickel of the Malone University swimming & diving team has been tabbed as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

The Crestline, Ohio native helped the Pioneers to split their double dual meet over the weekend. The team defeated Wittenberg University by a score of 138-113, but were defeated by the host institution of the meet, The College of Wooster, 204-73.

In the team's final regular season meet of the year, Rickel secured one second-place finish and two third-place marks. She was runner-up in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.56 seconds, third in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:03.32 and set a new personal best with her third-place effort in the 100-yard individual medley, 1:04.81. Her time in the 100-yard individual medley is good for fourth in program history.

Malone continues on with their season at the 2025-26 Great Midwest / Mountain East Swimming & Diving Championship beginning on February 10. The conference championship meet will be at home for the Pioneers at the C.T. Branin Natatorium.
