GREENVILLE, S.C. - Junior pitcher
Mia Rose of the Malone University softball team has won her first career NCCAA Athlete of the Week award presented by Athletic Solutions as the association's best pitcher this week.

Rose, who hails from Gnadenhutten, Ohio, was 2-0 in the circle this week with wins against West Liberty University (11-2) and King University (5-3). She totaled 12.0 innings, allowed five runs, struck out five and held a 2.92 ERA. Rose did not walk a better over the course of the whole week.

On top of her work as a pitcher, Rose also batted in all four games over the weekend where the Pioneers were 3-1 overall. She was 5-for-15 with three runs, four RBIs and four doubles. She was 4-for-8 with three doubles on the first day of the 2026 season.

The Pioneers will travel to Salem University to take on the Tigers in a doubleheader on February 27. First pitch is at 2:00 P.M.
