INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Ashtyn Rickel of the Malone University women's swimming & diving team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week. It is her first career conference athlete of the week award and the second member of Malone swimming to receive the honor in 2025-26.
 
Rickel helped lead the Malone women's swimming & diving team to a victory at home over Fairmont State. She competed in four events in the midst of a 129-95 team win.
 
The freshman from Crestline, Ohio won three events in the meet, the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.91), 200-yard backstroke (2:18.47) and 200-yard individual medley (2:19.60). She was also a member of the second-place 200-yard medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:55.96.
 
The Pioneers have one final regular season meet at home against Chatham University on Friday, January 30. That meet begins at 12:00 P.M. at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
