CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University women's soccer team fell short at home, in an uphill battle against the Seton Hill University Griffins, 2-0. Malone is now 1-1-1 on the year and Seton Hill moves to 2-1-0.

The Griffins came out in the first half with five shots on-goal and one goal, while the Pioneers could only get two shots before the half.

In the second half, the Griffins fired quickly as they scored a goal in the 46th minute. From there, Seton Hill would hold Malone to only two shots on-goal in the second half.

Emmilina Miller forced an incredible save by the opposing goalkeeper in the 79th minute and just missed breaking up the shut out. The Pioneers also had a chance to get on the board in the 88th minute with a corner kick, but were unable to capitalize on it.
Nayeli Cruz got a piece of the ball in the box, but could not find the back of the net.

Amelia Henderhan (1-1-1) finished the night with two saves in goal.
Aubree Mellana played all 90 minutes as well as Henderhan.

The Pioneers travel to Crestview Hills, Kentucky to take on the Thomas More University Saints on September 18 for their first conference match of the year. Kick-off is at 5:00 P.M.
