CANTON, Ohio – The Malone University volleyball program has announced ten new student-athletes to the program for the 2025 season. They are
Arianna Buckley,
Elliona Stidd,
Taryn McGonigle,
Hailey Conrad,
Corinne Cape,
Lauren Doane,
Lizzie Dobbs,
Madalyn Coblentz,
Mikayla Yockey and
Tori Dawson.
Buckley comes to Malone from Coolville, Ohio and Marietta High School. She was named First Team All-Ohio, First Team All-Conference and Offensive Player of the Year in the Twin State League (TSL). The team won two conference titles and the 2024 Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) championship along with sectional and district titles and placed fifth in Division III. Buckley plans to study exercise science and pre-physical therapy.
Stidd was a three-year varsity letter winner for Indian Valley High School prior to her signing with the Pioneers. She was a part of a Sectional Championship in 2023 and was the blocks leader in the Inter-Valley Conference (IVC). Stidd earned an honors diploma, four academic letters, was a member of the dean's list and was in the top 10% of her graduating class. She plans to enroll in the exercise science program at Malone.
McGonigle is from Thornton, Colorado and Legacy High School and is a transfer student from Front Range Community College with four years of athletic eligibility. She was All-Conference Honorable Mention in the Front Range League as well as Academic All-State First Team. McGonigle helped lead Legacy in the conference standings for two runner-up finishes. She will enroll in the sport management program with a minor in business administration.
Conrad is a Stark County graduate from Tuslaw High School in Massillon, Ohio. She was the Stark County Player of the Year as well as the First Team and Player of the Year in the Principals Athletic Conference (PAC-7). Conrad holds the school records for kills in a match and in a season at Tuslaw. The Mustangs were PAC-7 champions in 2022 and were regional runners-up in 2023 and 2024.
Cape graduated from Edgerton High School where she was named Scholar Athlete in all four years as a volleyball player. She was named Second Team All-League in the Green Meadows Conference (GMC). Cape helped lead the Bulldogs to a District Semifinal and were Otsego Tournament Champions. She plans to enter Malone's zoo and wildlife biology program.
Doane is from Freeport, Ohio and is an alum of Harrison Central Jr./Sr. High School. She was a recipient of First Team OVAC, First Team District V and First Team Buckeye 8 Conference. Doane was named to the OVAC and District V All-Star teams. Academically, she was a member of National Honor Society, earned an honors diploma, was a Ruritan Scholar and earned four academic letters while being in the top ten of her graduating class. Doane intends to major in exercise science.
Dobbs is from the Mitten State and Troy High School. While apart of the Troy High School Volleyball program, she earned four Academic Athletic Awards and the Troy High School Volleyball Athletic Booster Award in 2024. She looks to earn her Bachelor's Degree in criminal and restorative justice while at Malone.
Coblentz was a member of the Dalton High School volleyball team, a program that won two district titles and were regional runners-up. She tallied a school record 1,616 digs in her career and was a two-time First Team Wayne County Athletic League (WCAL) honoree. Coblentz was named Third Team All-Ohio and First Team All-District as well. In the classroom, she earned an honors diploma with a 3.97 grade point average and was on the honor roll four times. Coblentz intends to study psychology.
Yockey is a setter from Massillon, Ohio and Jackson High School. She was awarded the Federal League Player of the Year, Stark County Division I Player of the Year and District IV Player of the Year honors in 2024. She led the Polar Bears to tremendous team success, including four Federal League titles, a 48-0 conference record, four District championships, two regional championships and a 91-15 overall varsity record. Yockey amassed 1,441 career assists for Jackson. She plans to enroll in the Malone nursing program.
Dawson joined Buckley as a graduate of Marietta High School where she was a Second Team All-District recipient. The team won two conference titles in the TSL and the 2024 Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) championship along with sectional and district titles and placed fifth in Division III. She plans to become a teacher with an education degree from Malone.
