CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Through the first day of the 2025 NCCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, the Malone University track & field team is third in both the men's and women's standings.
Campbellsville University and Cedarville University lead the men's standings at 46 points each while Malone has 20. On the women's side, the Pioneers trail Cedarville (41.3) and Bethel University (31.3) with 28 points.
The highlight of the day came from NCCAA champion and freshman
Lexi Tucci in the high jump. She set a new personal best at 1.62 meters (5' 3.75") to clear the tie for fifth in the Malone indoor top-10 list.
Zach Bugner in the 5,000-meter run (15:09.59) and the women's distance medley relay team of
Rebekah Stoneman,
Cara Pipitone,
Jenna Cassidy and
Kristin Yeager (12:49.01) narrowly missed out on a national championship with runner-up finishes in their respective events.
Fourth-place finishes were credited to
Rylee Yocum in the 5,000-meter run (18:08.84),
Chase Balko in the 5,000-meter run (15:18.22), the men's distance medley relay team of
Mattia Uboldi,
Manamanya Opiew,
Eric Dehmer and
Hayden Schmidt (10:36.22) and the women's 4x200-meter relay squad of
Macey Hicks,
Abigail Blaz,
Brooklyn McIntyre and
Allea Graves (1:48.39).
Competition wraps up on Saturday, February 8 at the NCCAA Championships.
