NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University men's soccer team finished its season with one final win on the road against its rival Walsh University, 2-0. The Pioneers finished the season with a 3-11-3 record, while the Cavaliers finished with a record of 3-10-5. In the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), Malone finished the season with a 3-8-3 record, and Walsh finished the season at 2-7-5.

The first half was a slow start for the Pioneers as they were only able to find one shot by
Anthony Birus during the 18th minute, but were unable to capitalize on it. The Cavaliers stayed on the offensive most of the first half, finishing with seven shots, but both teams were unable to secure the lead at the end of the half.

The second half started quickly as
Mason Gradel scored the first goal of the match during the 46th minute to give Malone the lead, 1-0. The game stayed tight as both teams were fighting for possession until the 76th minute, when
Christopher Onye put Malone up 2-0 with an insurance goal. Walsh stayed relentless towards the end of the match, but they were unsuccessful in finding a goal.

The Pioneers' defense stood tall with the help of
Ryan Ziskowski,
Andres Eizaga, and
Dylan DiPiero, who stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
Luke Miller,
Caleb Redding, and
Nate Werthmuller were also key players for Malone as they stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes as well.

Roman Sigafoos (1-2-1) came in clutch for the Pioneers during the second half with three saves on the night.

The Malone men's soccer team looks forward to celebrating their win over their rivals as they go into the off-season. The Pioneers will be back in action in their upcoming season in the fall of 2026.
