G-MAC Postseason Awards See Jaymes Gilbert Named Second Team All-Conference

11/21/25

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Jaymes Gilbert of the Malone University volleyball team has received Second Team All-Conference honors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). It is Gilbert's first career all-conference award and she is the seventh different student-athlete in program history to be named an all-conference player in the G-MAC.

The junior middle hitter from Wooster, Ohio was named the G-MAC East Division Athlete of the Week twice during the 2025 season. The Pioneers finished with a 6-21 overall record, but five of those wins came in league play. Malone just missed out on a postseason berth and finished tenth in the G-MAC standings, an improvement from one season ago.

Gilbert led the Pioneers with 284.5 points (2.96 per set), 222 kills (2.31 per set), a .306 hitting percentage and 73.0 total blocks. Her hitting percentage is the second-highest mark in Malone volleyball's NCAA DII era. In the back row, the Triway alum was second on the team in digs with 190 (1.98 per set) and service aces with 19 on the year.

Looking at conference-only statistics, Gilbert was seventh in the conference in total points at 185 (3.19 per set). She accumulated 148 kills, 40 blocks and 13 service aces while facing opponents from the G-MAC. Her .316 hitting percentage was good for 14th in the league.

In the final weekend of the season, Gilbert crossed the 500-kill mark and her career hitting percentage of .248 would break the NCAA DII era record for the program. Her 233.0 blocks in her career is the fifth-most since 2012.
