Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Malone Ties Lake Erie on the Road

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Malone University women's soccer team tied Lake Erie College on Saturday night 1-1. The Pioneers are now 5-7-3 overall and 4-6-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The Storm are 8-3-4 and 5-2-4 in the conference.

Lake Erie took the lead with a goal in the 27th minute of play. That 1-0 score would last until halftime with the Storm ahead in shots, 5-3.

Malone responded with a penalty kick goal by Gracie Ashton in the 51st minute to tie the match up at 1-1. The match ended with a 1-1 draw to keep the Pioneers in the hunt for the postseason, but in need of two outright wins in their final matches of 2025.

The Storm outshot Malone 9-6, but the Pioneers had four shots on-goal compared to Lake Erie's two. A 6-3 difference in corner kicks saw the home squad get more opportunities, but not necessarily better opportunities.

Amelia Henderhan made one save in goal and moves to 5-7-3 on the season. Camryn Emerling, Aubree Mellana and Brynn Mowrer played the full 90 minutes.

Another big playoff-altering match will commence on Thursday, October 30 at Northwood University beginning at 12:00 P.M.
