MIDLAND, Mich. - At the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championships, the Malone University cross country teams had a pair of student-athletes named to All-Conference teams.
Hayden Schmidt and
Kristin Yeager were each awarded Second Team All-Conference for their performances at the championship event.

In the team standings, the Malone women were sixth and men seventh. Cedarville University won the women's cross country championship and Walsh University were the men's champions.

Yeager's time of 22:26.8 is a new personal best by a wide margin. She placed 21st, but earned the final all-conference selection thanks to the champion Yellow Jackets putting eight inside the top-20 (one non-scoring member).
Jenna Cassidy was the next Pioneer to place in 34th. She set a new personal best as well at 22:53.4.
Rachel Whetstone (42nd),
Rebekah Stoneman (57th) and
Carolyn Miller (66th) made up the final three team scorers. Whetstone (23:16.7) and Miller (24:08.2) had new career-low times as well.

Schmidt was 18th overall with a time of 24:54.7 in the 8k race. His time broke his own best mark.
Wyatt Royster was the second Malone runner to cross the stripe at 25:08.9 (26th - personal best).
Alex Hill was 35th at 25:20.1.
Xander Heil (25:29.5) and
Yahya Jawadi (25:31.8) made up the remaining two spots for the Pioneers. Hill and Jawadi set new low times for their careers.

The next postseason event for the team is the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on November 8 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
