Midland-- The  Malone Men's basketball team (15-13,8-12 G-MAC) journeyed to Michigan to face off against Northwood University (7-21,4-16 G-MAC) in the final game of the regular season.
Malone grabbed 92-67 win to finish the regular season on a high note.
The Game
Right from the tip-off, Malone set the tone for the game.
Aaron Badibo's early layup just 59 seconds into the match got the scoring underway.
Simon Blair's three-pointer at the 18:18 mark of the first half not only extended Malone's lead but also signaled the team's offensive intensity.
Northwood tried to rally, but Malone's defense held firm. At  the 12:23 mark in the first half, Blair's layup capped off a swift offensive sequence, showing Malone's ability to convert turnovers into points.
As the game progressed, Malone maintained their momentum.
Jaelyn Etheridge's three-pointer at the 7:20 mark of the second half widened the gap, while crucial defensive stops by the Pioneers prevented Northwood from mounting a comeback.
However, the Timberwolves managed to narrow the deficit, with key plays from Anthony Sanders and Collin Albert. Yet, Malone responded emphatically with
Simon Blair's layup at 5:16 in the second half extinguishing any hopes of a Northwood resurgence.
The game's defining moment came with just over two minutes remaining.
Aaron Badibo's layup effectively sealed the victory for Malone, putting them ahead by 27 points. In the end, Coach Wallrapp's team grabbed 92-67 win to close out the regular season strong.
