Canton, OH-- In a commanding performance, the Malone Pioneers (11-12,4-11 G-MAC) secured a decisive home 57-37 win against Ohio Dominican (4-15,1-11 G-MAC). This game held significant meaning on multiple fronts, marking the return of former Pioneer coach Casey Kaufman to the fold.
Aaron Badibo kicked off the game with a smooth three-pointer, instantly propelling the Pioneers into the lead. Just moments later,
Tahleik Walker followed suit with another precise three-pointer, extending Malone's lead to 6-0 in the early minutes of the game. Ohio Dominican swiftly countered with a 10-0 run of their own, surging ahead to a 10-6 lead.
The first half saw witnessed a display of sloppy play from both sides, hindering any significant offensive momentum. With neither team able to establish as commanding lead, the game remained deadlocked at 19-19 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Malone showcased a marked a improvement in offensive execution, spearheaded by
Aaron Badibo's exceptional performance. Badibo ignited the second half by scoring the first seven points, including an electrifying highlight dunk that energized the crowd and his teammates. The Pioneers then surged ahead, extending their lead and maintained control for the remainder of the game.
