Pioneers Blow Out Lake Erie

Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio. -- The Malone University women's basketball team traveled to Lake Erie College on Thursday evening, February 1 and left with a big 75-33 win against the Storm. 

The Pioneers jumped out to an astounding 22-4 lead in the first quarter and continued their dominance by leading 42-13 at the half. The large lead allowed head coach Selana Reale to give significant minutes to all of her players and for the first time this season, every active player on the team scored and had at least one rebound for the Pioneers. The visitors scored 33 points in the second half and secured their second win of the season against the Storm. The Pioneers shot 48.3% (29-60) from field goal range on the night and an impressive 61.9% (13-21) from three-point range.


Inside the Box Score

Brooklyn Troyer led the Pioneers with 14 points, going a perfect 5-of-5 from the field. She added seven rebounds.

Nataley Armstrong had 13 points, four assists, and three rebounds. 

Brinn Hunt and Aila Miller each had nine points and combined for nine rebounds. 

Annabel Rodriguez had six points and three rebounds on the evening.

Anna Krupa and Julia Lokker each scored five and each had a rebound.


What's Next

The Pioneers will return home and host Kentucky Wesleyan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3 in Osborne Hall.
