GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Malone University women's soccer team concluded their season with a 3-0 loss in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship Quarterfinals to Northwood University, but the team raised one spot in the NCCAA Coaches Poll.
The Pioneers will conclude the 2024 season ranked seventh with a 9-8-1 record. In the last two weeks of play, Malone was 1-2 with a key victory over Walsh University, 2-1. The win clinched a spot in the postseason for the Pioneers and was the first time in the team's NCAA DII era that they had swept the Cavaliers in the regular season.
Following the win, sophomore goalkeeper
Amelia Henderhan was named G-MAC Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week. She had six saves in the regular season finale. It is the second time in 2024 that Henderhan was tabbed the G-MAC Athlete of the Week. The team's goalkeeper has the eighth-best save percentage in the NCCAA at .802 and the tenth-most saves per match at 5.71.
Malone women's soccer put up the best winning percentage (.528) since the year 2009 with a 9-8-1 overall record.
