NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Malone University women's basketball team (7-6, 3-2 G-MAC) picked up an important 80-75 conference win at Trevecca Nazarene University (6-6, 2-3 G-MAC) on Saturday afternoon, January 6.
The Pioneers shot 53.85% from the field in the first quarter and held a 21-17 lead after the first frame. However, the hosts surged back in the second quarter and led 41-38 at the half. Malone put together a great third quarter where they outscored the Trojans 23-12 and put themselves in a great position to ultimately win the game by a score of 80-75. The Pioneers shot 51.9% (27-52) from the field and 56.0% (14-25) from three-point range on the day and out-rebounded Trevecca 35-32.
Inside the Box Score
Kyli Horn erupted for 23 points. She also had four assists and two steals on the afternoon.
Brooklyn Troyer added 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.
Brinn Hunt put up 16 points and hauled in five rebounds.
Aila Miller had 11 points and two rebounds.
Erin Kaufman had five points and eight rebounds.

The Pioneers will return home and take on Walsh University on Thursday, January 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Osborne Hall.
