The Game
Minutes into the game,
Brynn Mowrer cruised through the Ursuline back line and was in on goal before her shot was turned aside.
As the game progressed and reached the midway mark of the first half, the Arrows came down posing the first real threat of the match. A cross was sent and Ursuline's Kristina Spitzer shot was tipped over the goal by freshman goalkeeper
Amelia Henderhan.
However, it was moments later when the game became one to remember. With about 10 minutes remaining in the first half,
Brynn Mowrer stripped the defender and slotted the ball into the back of the net to put the Pioneers up 1-0.
Then with under a minute left on the clock, Ursuline was awarded a corner kick which led to a scrap in front of the goal where the ball was eventually tapped into a tie game at 1.
As everyone was ready to go into halftime break,
Bridget Harris had other ideas. She struck one with her right foot off of
Gracie Ashton's cross for her first goal of the season. This put Malone up 2-1 heading into the break.
Minutes into the second half the Arrows scored a goal. Not long after the Pioneers responded with a goal from
Cayde Koballa which ended up being the decider in th
is 5 goal thriller.
Malone takes the Season sweep over Ursuline.
