Canton, OH - Malone welcomed Kentucky Wesleyan to King Field for the first half of their 2 game Ohio road stand.

The Game
With question marks surrounding the weather forecast, the game ended up being played as the sky cleared up minutes before kickoff. The match was a quiet stalemate during the first half of play with each side tallying 3 shots and 1 really good look on goal. The only Pioneer chance being a Gavin Csiszar free kick which was pushed aside by a diving Arthur Hill. As for the Panthers, they had a big chance of their own moments later when Santiago Henrich put one wide right from the top of the 6 yard box. Coming out of the halftime break it was a completely different game. The Panthers began to move the ball around at a quicker pace while the Pioneers struggled to adapt. This led to a Panther goal just minutes into the half to give them a 1-0 lead. Then, as the midway mark in the second half was approaching, Haakon Torvbraaten lined up a left footed screamer from about 30 yards out which hit off the cross bar and into the net. The 2-0 defeat was a devastating blow to a Pioneer squad that were hoping to come away with the 3 points.
