Canton, OH-- On Saturday, The Malone University men's soccer team welcomed Lake Erie to King Field for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup.
After a strong start from the Pioneers, Lake Erie was able to weather the storm and come away with a narrow 3-2 victory.

The Game
Just over halfway in the first half, Lake Erie's Fabian Kiessetz opened the scoring at 34:23, assisted by Angel Murillo. However, the Pioneers quickly responded, with
Gavin Csiszar finding the net just 50 seconds later, courtesy of an assist from
Dylan DiPiero.
Malone took the lead at 44:49 right before the end of the half when
Myles Schmidt scored, off of a perfect assist from
Randy Harris.
The Second half saw Lake Erie ramp up the pressure and the Storm struck quickly to level the score at 2-2.
Gavin Csiszar had an opportunity to give Malone the lead in the 66th minute, but the shot was saved.
The winning goal came late in the game, as Maximilian Lintschinger scored for Lake Erie at the 79:39 mark. This gave the Strom the narrow 3-2 win.
Lake Erie's Cooper Cook made a crucial save for his team, while
Grant Mastroine, guarding Malone's goal, also made significant saves to keep his team in contention.
What's Next
Malone will be back in action Tuesday, October 31 against rival Walsh. The game will start at 7:30 PM and it is Senior Day!
