CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — The Malone University volleyball team (3-20, 1-10 G-MAC) fell to Thomas More University (3-18, 1-9 G-MAC) in five sets on Saturday afternoon, October 21.

The Pioneers came out strong in the first set and ground out a 26-24 win. The hosts won both of the next two sets by scores of 25-21 to lead two sets to one. Malone fought back and won the fourth set 25-18 to force a fifth set. However, the Saints managed to win the fifth set by a score of 15-7. Despite the loss, the Pioneers played well and showed improvement from the last several weeks.

Inside the Box Score

Gabby Rodriguez led the Pioneers with 17 kills and 10 digs.

Annika Nichols (five digs) and Brianne Salinas (three digs, four total blocks) each added 10 kills.

Macy McCauley led the team with 29 digs.

Gabby Pelfrey had a team-leading 24 assists and added seven digs.

Mallory Meinen picked up 16 assists and nine digs on the afternoon.

What's Next

The Pioneers return home to host (RV) Walsh University on Tuesday evening, October 24 in Osborne Hall. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
