FINDLAY, Ohio -- The 2022 Great Midwest Cross Country Championship meet was held at Hillcrest Golf Club on Saturday.
In the women's 6k race Malone University finished in fifth place out of the thirteen teams competing. In the men's race the Pioneers came home in seventh place out of twelve teams.
Individually,
Rylee Yocum finished the 6k event in 19th with a time of 22:37.7 and
Max Gucker finished the 8k event in 21st with a time of 25:35.2. Both of those performances earned Yocum and Gucker spots on the Great Midwest All-Conference Second Team.
Sophomore
Noah Blaz, a Data Analytics and Sport Management major with a 4.0 GPA from Doylestown, Ohio, earned the Great Midwest Elite 26 Award. The Elite 26 Award recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete at the conference championship level in his or her sport while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or peer.
