CANTON -- The Malone University volleyball team was back at home on Saturday for a second meeting with the University of Findlay.
The Oilers pulled out a close win in the opening set, and used that momentum to pull of a 3-0 sweep of the Pioneers.

HIGHLIGHTS
The opening set was back-and-forth with neither team able to create much separation early on.
With the Oilers leading 15-13, Malone's defense forced an attacking error and then followed with a kill by
Gabi Smith to tie the set back up at 15-15.
Findlay pushed their lead out to 18-15 with three straight points, but the Pioneers fought right back. MU eventually closed the deficit to 21-20 on a UF error and a kill by
Kristen Hankins.
Unfortunately the Oilers closed the set with four of the last seven points to grab a 1-0 lead in the match.
Findlay's offense posted nearly a 60% hitting mark in the second set. The Oilers got kills on 18 of their 28 attacking attempts, and won set two 25-14.
The Pioneers rallied back in the third set, but ultimately came up short 25-19.
DETAILS
Gabi Smith led a balanced offensive effort for Malone with six kills.
Macy McCauley, who is the back-to-back winner of the Great Midwest North Division Defensive Player of the Week award, finished with 12 digs.
WHAT'S NEXT
Malone will close out the home portion of their 2022 schedule next week. First up the Pioneers host Ursuline College at 7:00 p.m. Thursday night.
