HAMMOND, Indiana -- Friday and Saturday the Malone University volleyball team traveled to compete in the 2022 Midwest Region Crossover.
The Midwest Region Crossover is the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament, and features schools from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Pioneers came away with a win over Truman State University on Friday, but were bested by both Purdue University-Northwest and William Jewell College on Saturday.

WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS
CC Gurney finished the weekend with a team-high 33 kills. The senior tied her season-high with 14 kills Saturday against William Jewell.
Freshman
Gabi Smith was not far off as she finished the three matches with a total of 27 kills. The ten kills she put down Friday night in the win over Truman State tied for her career-high.
Kristen Hankins finished with 23 kills offensively, and a team-high six total blocks on the defensive side of the net. With 82 total blocks on the season, she sits just two off of the G-MAC lead.
The reigning Great Midwest North Division Defensive Player of the Week,
Macy McCauley ended the crossover with a team-high 69 digs. That pushes her season total out to 434.
Molly Bullion and
Gabby Pelfrey combined for 110 total assists on the weekend. Bullion continues to lead the team with 421 assists on the season.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pioneers only have conference games remaining on the 2022 regular season schedule.
Malone will travel up Market Avenue on Tuesday night for a rematch with crosstown rival Walsh University. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
