MALONE-CEDARVILLE SOCCER SERIES
Malone and Cedarville have met 24 different times prior to this afternoon. The Pioneers hold an 11-10-3 advantage in the tightly contested overall series.

In the early meeting this season the Yellow Jackets picked up a 3-1 win. Sally Culig had the lone goal for Malone.

The last win for the Pioneers came in October of 2016, a 2-1 victory in the quarterfinal round of the G-MAC Tournament.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE PIONEERS

  1. By defeating ODU 5-4 in the penalty kick shootout on Saturday, Malone advanced to the semifinal match of the conference tournament for the first time since 2016.
  2. After posting a shutout in the 110 minutes of play, and then making the game-winning save during the shootout, Jessica Morgan picked up G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

  3. Yesterday the conference announced it's yearly award winners, and the all-conference teams. First year head coach Bailey Shattell was named the G-MAC Co-Coach of the Year.

  4. Junior forward Madeline Ault earned a spot on the All-G-MAC Second Team. The Bay Village, Ohio native led the Pioneers with five goals and two assists this year.
  5. The Pioneers carry a well-balanced offensive attack into the semifinal matchup. Seven different players contributed at least one goal. Sally Culig, who found the back of the net three times, was the only other player besides Ault to score multiple goals this year.
