Malone Swimming & Diving Stays Competitive In Day Two of G-MAC/MEC Championships

Day Two Results (Prelims and Finals)

The Malone University men's and women's swimming & diving teams are holding their ground following the second day of the G-MAC/MEC Championships at the CT Branin Natatorium in Canton.

The women are still sitting at a comfortable fourth-place (289.5) while the men moved up to one spot to claim fourth-place as well (335.5), concluding the second day. Hillsdale is still leading for the women with 633 points, and Findlay is still leading for the men with 595.5 points. 

Highlights 
500 Free
Claire Sullivan won the B Final (9th place overall) in 5:14.44. Karly Bruce finished in 20th place in the C Final for Malone.

For the men, Caleb Cosentino placed second in the B Final (10th overall) with a time of 5:14.44. Patrick Blayney (18th place), Cole Travis (22nd place), and Braydan Billman (23rd place) achieved top-24 placement for the Pioneers.

200 IM
Macy Williams was second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.24 (A Final). In the same race was Danielle Ward, coming in with an 8th-place finish in 2:15.22. Johanna Dewolf managed to reach 24th place, which gives Malone its needed points. 

Ezra Ferguson was the first Pioneer to finish in the B Final, coming in with an 11th-place finish in 1:59.19. Thomas Hooper was 15th in the B Final and Fabian Loewe came in 18th place in the C Final.

50 Free
For the women, Denise Quentin reached 3rd-place overall with a time of 23.85 in the A Final. Delaney Ferrell got 19th in the C Final.

Braden Knoch was 6th (21.61), and Oliver Ehmann was 8th (21.70) in the A Final. Ace Fry reached 11th place in the B Final, and Samuel Rigdon got 21st in the C Final, was helps gain points for being in the top-24.

400 Medley Relay
The women were placed in fourth with Pioneers Macy Williams, Denise Quentin, Danielle Ward, and Claire Sullivan in 4:02.45. 

The men finished in second place with a time of 3:28.52. The contribution was from Oliver Ehmann, Fabian Loewe, Caleb Cosentino, Ezra Ferguson.


Day Three trials begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, with Finals taking place at 6:00 pm.
