2021 Great Midwest Men's Cross Country All-Conference Team
CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Malone University men's and women's cross country teams competed on Saturday at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championships, hosted by Cedarville University.
The men finished fifth in the 8K event with 117 points. Walsh finished first for the men with 30 points. The women's squad got a fourth place finish with 96 points in the 6K event following behind Hillsdale, Walsh, and the first place team, Cedarville.
Malone Men's Results
Max Gucker had an outstanding performance for the Pioneers by finishing 18th place with a time of 25:31.1. His time was good enough to get him named Second Team All-GMAC. Lucas Clark was also honored with Second Team All-Conference with his time of 25:34.4 that got him 20th place. Tony Cappillo followed behind Clark with a 21st place finish, and a time of 25:36.4.
Matthew Kuyken placed 32nd with his time of 26:06.4, and Steven Hennis crossed the line in 26:17.0 for a 36th place finish.
Nicholas Michels got a time of 25:25.3, and Jude Ault finished 43rd with a time of 26:22.7. Christopher Cannon got a 45th place finish for the Pioneers with a time of 26:25.9.
Malone Women's Results
Mackenna Curtis-Collins finished second overall with a time of 21:38.8 and was named First Team All-GMAC again as a result of her performance. Leah Metzger was another strong runner for the Pioneers that got 11th place finished the finish line with a personal-record time of 22:21.8 and a 29th place finish. Metzger was honored with Second Team All-Conference.
Sabrina McClain ran a time of 22:52.2, and Rylee Yocum finished 30th with a personal-best time of 23:09.2.
Ariana Manos crossed the finish line with a career best time of 23:27.1. Ella Pumneo got a 41st place finish with a time of 23:34.0.
