FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE PIONEERS
- Malone suffered another heart-breaking loss on Monday, falling to Kentucky Wesleyan 75-54 on a buzzer-beater. In the contest, Holly Groff poured in a season-high 29 points to lead all scorers. She also notched season-high totals in field goals (11) and three-point field goals (7).
-
With that performance Groff has now solidified herself inside the top-5 scorers in the G-MAC. Her 18.1 points-per-game is fifth best in the entire league. She ranks fourth in the G-MAC with 2.9 three-point field goals per-contest.
-
Nikki Weber continued her high-level of play as of late. She totaled double-digits in points for the third consecutive game. She had 10 points on 4-8 shooting from the field.
-
Robin Campbell, who dished out three assists in the loss at KWC, now sits at sixth in the G-MAC with 4.3 assists-per-game. Her 2.1 assist / turnover ratio is seventh-best in the conference.
-
As a team the Pioneers are fifth in the league on both offense and defense. They are scoring 76.3 points-per-game, and are giving up 75.1.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
The Oilers enter this evening's matchup off back-to-back losses against both Ursuline College and Ohio Dominican University. Their last win came on December 19, a 77-72 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Findlay also holds wins over Tiffin University and Hillsdale College this season.
The Oilers' offense is paced by junior forward Sydney Kim who is scoring 19.4 points-per-game. That ranks fourth best in the entire G-MAC.
Kim nearly averages a double-double as she pulls down 9.9 rebounds per contest.
Ironically enough, Kim is also a threat on the defensive end of the floor. Her 1.7 steals per game is second-best in the conference.
As a team the Oilers sit just above Malone offensively scoring 77.0 points per game, but they rank much lower defensively allowing an average of 80.7 points.
