The Malone University baseball team dropped a 12-6 decision to Rollins College during a Baseball Week matchup Sunday afternoon in Winter Park, Florida. The Pioneers, who fell behind 10-0 in the second inning, suffered their fourth straight loss as they fell to 5-5 on the season and 0-4 during spring break.

Recap
Malone surrendered nine runs in a forgettable first inning, which featured a Rollins grand slam homerun. The Tars made it 10-0 on their home field with another run in the bottom of the second.
Â
The Pioneers cracked the scoring column in the top of the third when freshman outfielder
Kail Hill singled in his first collegiate plate appearance and later touched home on an RBI single from
Joe Crank.
Â
Rollins got the run back to make it 11-1 in the bottom of the fifth before Malone made things interesting with five runs in the next two frames.
Â
An RBI groundout by
Bryan Yoder paired with a Rollins throwing error allowed two runs to score in the sixth before three more Pioneers tallied runs in the seventh.
Joe Watts, who collected his first collegiate hit earlier in the contest, plated a pair with a run-scoring double. Watts later came home on an RBI double from
Kail Hill.
Â
A sacrifice fly by the Tars in the bottom of the seventh accounted for the game's final run as Malone managed a pair of singles but no runs in its final two at-bats.

The Pioneers collected a season-high 11 hits including the two each from Watts and Hill. Crank and
Clay Wisner each recorded two singles while Wisner and
Evan Balzano, who walked three times, each scored twice.

Nathan Hill tossed 2.1 relief innings, giving one run on two walks and no hits.
