G-MAC All-Conference Teams

Malone University women's basketball guards Holly Groff and Robin Campbell were each named Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) First Team All-Conference when the league announced its postseason awards on Thursday night. The two were among 10 representatives on the First Team as Malone was one of three schools to place two players on the list.

Holly Groff, a redshirt junior from Macedonia, Ohio (Nordonia HS), was phenomenal in her return to the starting lineup this season. After missing all of the 2018-19 campaign with injury, Groff bounced back to score 18.4 points per game while leading Malone to 18 regular-season wins and its second-straight appearance in the G-MAC Championship Tournament. During the 18-game conference slate, she led all scorers with 19.9 points a night.

The 5'4" guard has started all 29 games and ranks second in the conference in both overall scoring and minutes played (34.1 per game). Groff is shooting 44.0% from the field and 81.5% from the free-throw line while also grabbing 4.3 rebounds and dishing out 2.9 assists per game. In addition, she has registered 35 steals and five blocked shots on the defensive end.

Groff leads the G-MAC this season with 95 three-pointers, 22 more than the next-closest shooter and ninth-most in NCAA Division II. She also leads qualified athletes in three-point shooting percentage (40.6%) and had 19 games with at least two three-pointers. Groff tied a G-MAC record with 11 three-pointers in January game at Findlay where she scored a career-high 37 points.

Sophomore Robin Campbell, the 2018-19 G-MAC Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Conference pick, made the jump to the First Team with her performance this winter. The Alliance, Ohio native and Marlington High School graduate is averaging 14.0 points along with 4.0 rebounds and a team-high 3.1 assists while guiding Malone to a four-win improvement and the fifth seed in the G-MAC Tournament. She has also collected 30 steals and five blocked shots on defense.

Campbell ranks 13th in the conference in scoring and 11th in both assists and minutes (30.5 mpg) while shooting 44.9% from the field and 30.9% from three-point range. The 5'4" guard has gone to the free-throw line 131 times this season and ranks third in made free throws (104) and third among those who qualify in free-throw percentage (79.4%).

The multi-dimensional Campbell led Malone in scoring seven times, rebounding eight times, and assists 11 times during the season. She is one of only four players in the conference to average at least 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.

Malone returns to the court on Friday, March 6th to take on Walsh in the G-MAC Semifinals at 5:30 pm in Walsh's Alumni Arena.
