The Malone University women's basketball team suffered its third home loss of the week on Saturday, falling 66-50 to Cedarville University in a pivotal matchup of Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) foes. The Pioneers struggled on the offensive end and never found any rhythm as they fell to 11-5 in conference play and 17-9 overall. Cedarville avenged last Thursday's loss to Malone and improved to 19-6 on the year, 12-4 in the G-MAC.

Recap
Cedarville, which was playing without its top scorer, set the tone in the first quarter, opening up a 20-11 lead. The Yellow Jacket defense held Malone under 30% shooting in the session and outrebounded the Pioneers 13-6. Freshman
Alexis Hutchison made Malone's only three field goals of the second quarter as the shooting woes continued. By halftime, Cedarville led 36-23.

The Yellow Jackets scored seven straight points coming out of the half and then limited Malone to just three baskets as they stretched the lead to 54-34 by the end of the third quarter. While Malone managed to outscore Cedarville in the final stanza, it was far too little, far too late as the visitors secured the 66-50 victory.
