The Malone University women's basketball team will wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule over the next several days. The Pioneers, who are 4-4 in non-league games, are slated to host Waynesburg University this Wednesday, January 8th before visiting Wheeling University on Monday, January 13th.

Series History
Malone has never played Division III Waynesburg, a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference located in the southwest corner of Pennsylvania. The Pioneers are 3-7 all-time against Wheeling, formerly Wheeling Jesuit, but the two teams have not met since 2007.

Malone Notes
- The Pioneers are coming off a 1-1 week that featured an 81-53 win over Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday and an 81-65 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.
- Junior guard Holly Groff scored a team-high 37 points in the two contests and leads the team in scoring (15.4 ppg) and rebounding (5.3 rpg) though 13 games.
- Sophomore guard Robin Campbell leads Malone with 37 assists and is second on the team in points (15.0 ppg) and steals (18).
- Campbell is shooting 85.7% (48-56) from the free throw-line, helping Malone rank 10th in Division II in team free-throw percentage.
- Senior forward Sydney Wentling, a 90% (18-20) shooter at the free-throw line, is scoring 9.9 points a night and is tied for the team-lead in rebounds (5.3 rpg).
- Senior forward Ellen Doyle, who is approaching 500 career points, averages a shade below 10 points per game and has led Malone in rebounds in two of the last three contests.
- Freshman Alexis Hutchison continues to lead the squad in steals (23). She has at least two steals in four of the last five games.
- While Malone has started the same five in all 13 game this season, Jade Abdulla has played a team-high 17.3 minutes per game off the bench this season. She recorded multiple assists and steals in both games last week.
- Malone is 3-3 at home this season and 5-1 on the road, including wins in four straight.
- The Pioneers have not played an NCAA Division III team since December of 2012 (W 51-36 vs. Grove City).
- When holding opponents to 40% shooting or below, Malone is 7-0. When opponents make more than 40% of their shots, the Pioneers are 1-5.

- The Yellow Jackets, coached by Mount Union grad Sam Jones, are coming off of a 93-76 win at Geneva on Saturday to snap a seven-game losing streak. Waynesburg ranks among the bottom-20 in DIII in scoring defense and field goal defense.
- Leading scorer and rebounder Brooke Fuller (16.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg) ranks among the top-20 in DII in field-goal percentage (57.7%).
- Anika Dansby, a freshman from Massillon and one of two Stark County players on the roster, leads the team in assists (33) and steals (21).
Wheeling Notes
- The Cardinals will play two more games before hosting Malone on Monday, but are currently winless (0-3) at home and just 1-4 in non-conference games.
- 6'1" Sophomore forward Lilly Ritz, the 2019 Mountain East Conference Track & Field Freshman of the Year (high jump), leads Wheeling in scoring (18.0 ppg), rebounding (12.8 rpg), field goals (54.5%), steals (30), and blocks (15). She ranks fourth in the nation in rebounds per game.
