The Malone University baseball team picked up a 4-2 road win over Tiffin University in a nine-inning, non-conference matchup Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers have now 15 of their 16 last six games and are 25-11 on the season. Tiffin, meanwhile, dropped to 12-23 overall this spring.

After Pioneer starting pitcher
Anthony Stillwagon shut down the Dragons in order in the bottom of the first, Malone struck for two runs in the top of the second. Following a leadoff hit-by-pitch and a single by
Jacob Mottice, the first run came in to score on a Tiffin fielding error. The second tally crossed the plated on an RBI single from
Clay Wisner.

Tiffin got on the board in the bottom of the third before Malone made it a 3-1 ball game in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Mottice. The Dragons tacked on a second run in the bottom of the inning, but would be shut down by the Pioneer bullpen over the final four innings.

Malone added an insurance run in the top of the eighth when
Austin White singled in Mottice, who finished with three hits and two runs scored. Wisner collected two of the Pioneers' seven hits while leadoff man
Tyson Gingerich walked twice and scored a run.

Making his first collegiate start,
Anthony Stillwagon (1-0) pitched well on his way to his first collegiate victory. The senior lefty tossed a career-high five innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three.

James Kontur,
Chandler Stahl, and
Clyde Yoder, who struck out the side in the eighth, all pitched an inning of scoreless relief.
Clay Cooper then pitched the ninth to earn his G-MAC leading sixth save of the season.
