The Pioneers hold a 4-10 record against Lake Erie. Last season, Lake Erie swept the season series at home, defeating Malone 6-1 and 8-0.

Coming off their spring break trip to the Sunshine State, the Pioneers return home to play their home opener this weekend.

Madison Corrick and one from

Bailey Byers started her sophomore season with an offensive explosion. She is batting .541 this season with six homeruns and 20 RBIs. Her per game statistics are at or near the top in a variety of national categories. She sits tied for the NCAA Division II lead in runs batted in per game (2.00), second in homeruns per game (.60) and fourth in slugging percentage (1.135). She has been named G-MAC Softball Player of the Week and the Louisville Slugger/NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) Division II National Player of the Week.

Bailey's younger sister
Kelsey Byers started her Pioneer career by tossing 35 innings in Florida, finishing with a 5-1 record and a team-low 2.88 ERA. She has thrown five complete games this season and has one shutout.
Kelsey Byers leads the team in strikeouts with 41.

Senior
Serena Tucciarelli started the season by hitting her first career homerun as a Pioneer against Wheeling Jesuit University. She is batting .419 with four RBIs and three walks.

In six games this season,
Anissa Seese is batting .625 (5-for-8) and has an on-base percentage of .556. Defensively, she has seen action at second base and in left field, and has been utilized as a pinch runner as well.

Lake Erie also competed in The Spring Games in central Florida last week. Against common opponents, Lake Erie defeated Concordia College 4-3, suffered a 7-1 loss against Franklin Pierce, and had a 1-1 split in two games against Nyack College.

As a team, the Storm scored 37 runs (4.6 runs per game). They hold an average of .234 and an on-base percentage of .283.

Freshman pitcher Rachel Ward has done damage at the plate so far this season, batting .364 with a team-leading four doubles and tied for the team lead in homeruns (1) and RBIs (8). She has an on-base percentage of .391 and a slugging percentage of .682 (team high).

Allyson Deemer pitched 19 innings and has a 2-1 record with two complete games. She holds the team-low ERA of 4.05. Parker Viele has been in the circle for 17 innings, holding a record of 1-2 with one save and one complete game. She leads the team with 12 strikeouts and has an ERA of 4.53.

Sophomore outfielder Peyton Brownlee has nine hits in 27 at-bats and junior infielder Kaitlyn Peacock batted 8-for-24, both entering the game with a batting average of .333. Brownlee leads the team in hits and has the only triple of the season for the Storm. Peacock hit a homerun, knocked in five RBIs, has two walks and two stolen bases.

The Ursuline Arrows are 5-11 on the season, but won three in a row in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina heading into conference play. Their most recent game was a 6-2 victory over Ohio Christian University.
