The Malone University women's basketball team will trek to West Virginia this week to take on Alderson Broaddus University this Thursday, February 7th and Davis & Elkins College on Saturday, February 9th in a pair of pivotal Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) contests. Malone earned victories over both teams in Canton just two weeks ago.

With seven games left in the regular season, the Pioneers are currently in the eighth spot in the
G-MAC Standings and with two wins this weekend they could fully entrench themselves in the postseason discussion. Following this weekend's games, Malone will play its final five at home.

Malone is 6-1 against Alderson Broaddus all-time, including a 64-54 victory over the Battlers on January 26th. Malone is 3-2 in five all-time meetings with Davis & Elkins, including a wire-to-wire 55-48 win over the Senators on January 24th.
Malone Notes
- The Pioneers have won three of their last four games and four of six overall. Most recently, the Pioneers came away with an impressive 70-33 win at Ohio Valley last Saturday. The 33 points were the fewest allowed in a game since 2012.
- Across the last four games, Malone has held opponents to an average of 48 points per game. On the season, Malone leads the G-MAC in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense, and three-point defense (29.7%).
- The Pioneers, who shot 40% at Ohio Valley, are 6-1 this season when shooting at least 40%; they are also 5-0 when making at least 10 three-pointers.
- Senior guard Chrissie Vaughan has made at least one three-pointer in all 21 games this season and 26 in a row dating back to last year. She is one of just three players in the G-MAC with a three-pointer in every game.
- Vaughan, who is scoring 8.6 points per game, is coming off of a season-high 21-point performance at Ohio Valley on Saturday, her fifth career 20-point effort. Vaughan has 938 career points going into the weekend and will need to average nine points per game over the rest of the season to reach the illustrious 1,000-point milestone.
- Vaughan also leads the team in steals (24) and blocks (12) and is averaging 5.5 rebounds. She needs two rebounds to reach 400 for her career.
- Junior guard Sydney Wentling is averaging 8.0 points per game, which ranks among the top-5 in the G-MAC from players coming off the bench. On Saturday, she scored 15 points in the victory, marking the second-highest total this season.
- Freshman guard Robin Campbell, who missed both games last week, remains the team's leading scorer (13.8 ppg). She is sixth in the G-MAC in points and third in assists (3.8 assists per game).
- Junior forward Ellen Doyle is second on the team in scoring (9.0 ppg) and she leads the team in rebounds (5.8 rpg). Doyle, who has averaged 8.5 caroms over the last four games, ranks 15th in the G-MAC in total rebounding.
- Senior forward Naomi Grandison grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds in the Pioneers' loss at Ohio Dominican last Thursday. She is averaging 6.9 points and 4.3 rebounds this season.
- Senior guard Paiten Strother (5.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg) was tasked with much of the ball-handling duties in Campbell's absence. Strother played a career-high 37 minutes at Ohio Dominican on Thursday; she ranks seventh in the G-MAC in minutes per game (31.9) on the season.
- In two starts last weekend, freshman forward Madison Hunter averaged six points and 8.5 rebounds. She pulled down a season-high 11 at Ohio Valley.
- As a team, Malone grabbed 52 rebounds at Ohio Valley, marking the most in a game over the last two seasons. The +16 rebound margin was also a season-high.
- Entering the weekend, Malone is 5-7 in road games this season. Over the past three seasons, Malone is 9-1 in games played in West Virginia; the only loss was at Davis & Elkins last year.

- Senior forward Kali Wilburn scored a career-high 28 points at Walsh and a team-high 19 points in the loss at Malone. On the season, she leads the team in scoring at 13.6 points per game.
- Point guard Colleena Burdock (9.6 ppg) leads the G-MAC in steals (2.3 spg). Forward Jamiyah Johnson (7.0 ppg) is fifth in the G-MAC in rebounding, averaging 6.6 per game. Johnson hauled in 18 boards, the most by any player in the G-MAC this season, in just 20 minutes in the win at Alderson Broaddus last Saturday.
