The Malone University baseball team suffered its second straight shutout on Saturday as a quality Quincy University team defeated the Pioneers 4-0 in a non-conference game on a wet turf at Prasco Park. With the loss, Malone dropped to 2-2 on the season while Quincy, an NCAA Tournament qualifier a season ago, improved to 5-1.

Braun Miller (0-1) struck out seven and allowed three runs (two earned) over 3.2 innings in his 2019 debut.
Tommy Walker gave up just one run and struck out four batters over a career-high 4.1 innings pitched and
James Kontur worked a scoreless ninth. The three combined to allow just six hits, but Malone failed to get it going offensively, collecting only four hits.

Malone will head south to take part in the Rollins College Baseball Week in Winter Park, Florida over spring break. The nine-day, 11-game trip begins with a doubleheader against Davenport (MI) next Friday, March 1st.
