Holly Groff Named G-MAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Groff totaled 37 points and 11 rebounds in wins at Ohio Dominican and Tiffin.

Malone University redshirt junior guard Holly Groff has been awarded Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to a pair of G-MAC road victories.
 
Groff, a native of Macedonia, OH (Nordonia HS), averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in wins at Ohio Dominican and Tiffin. She canned six three-pointers and was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line.
 
In the 69-61 win at Ohio Dominican on Saturday, the 5'4" guard played 39 minutes, finishing with 14 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and three steals. Then in Monday's 79-58 win at Tiffin, Groff totaled a team-high 23 points to go along with five assists in 36 minutes played.
 
So far this season, Groff is averaging 14.6 points, a team-leading 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. She ranks 12th in the conference in scoring and second in minutes played (34.9).
 
Malone is off to a 7-3 start overall and at 3-0 represent one of just three unbeaten teams remaining in G-MAC play. The Pioneers have won five straight games and will next host West Liberty this Friday at 1:00 pm in Osborne Hall.
