Holly Groff has been awarded Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to a pair of G-MAC road victories.
Groff, a native of Macedonia, OH (Nordonia HS), averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in wins at Ohio Dominican and Tiffin. She canned six three-pointers and was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line.
In the 69-61 win at Ohio Dominican on Saturday, the 5'4" guard played 39 minutes, finishing with 14 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and three steals. Then in Monday's 79-58 win at Tiffin, Groff totaled a team-high 23 points to go along with five assists in 36 minutes played.
So far this season, Groff is averaging 14.6 points, a team-leading 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. She ranks 12th in the conference in scoring and second in minutes played (34.9).
Malone is off to a 7-3 start overall and at 3-0 represent one of just three unbeaten teams remaining in G-MAC play. The Pioneers have won five straight games and will next host West Liberty this Friday at 1:00 pm in Osborne Hall.
