Women's Soccer Season Comes to an End at Findlay

The Malone University women's soccer team fell in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals to the number one seed Findlay University by a score of 3-0.

The Pioneers finish the 2019 season with an overall record of 7-8-1 and a G-MAC record of 4-8-1. The Oilers move on to the G-MAC Semifinals that will take place at Roger Glass Stadium in Dayton, Ohio and will face the winner of Ohio Dominican versus Trevecca Nazarene later tonight.

Findlay fired off the first three shots of the game and drew first blood with a goal from freshman Jayla Campbell in the 10th minute. Addie Graham recorded an assist on the play when she crossed it from the right side of the pitch to a cutting Campbell in the middle. Campbell redirected the ball into the bottom left corner of the net, just outside the reach of the Pioneer keeper.

10 minutes later, the Oilers extended their lead. Findlay's team leader in scoring, Sierra Peacock, netted a goal off of a rebound to make it 2-0.

Just before the end of the half, Findlay added one more to put the game out of reach for the Oilers. Adele Stradling scored a top shelf goal on a long distance strike with her left foot.

All five first half shots from the Pioneers were on goal, but saved by Findlay keeper Anna Money, including three shots by Danielle Lung.

In the second half, the Oiler defense limited opportunities for the Pioneers and they only got two shots off in a comeback effort that fell short.

Lung led the way with four shots on the day, followed by Amanda Kinsey, Alexa Langenfeld and Keeley Malley with one shot apiece.

Haleigh Seman finished with three saves and 46 on the season.
