The Malone University women's basketball team begins week two of competition this week with a pair of non-conference contests, including its home opener on Wednesday, November 13th. The Pioneers are scheduled to host Salem University (WV) at 7:00 pm in Osborne Hall. Following Wednesday night's game, Malone travels to take on Seton Hill University (PA) on Saturday, November 16th at 4:00 pm.

Series History
Malone is 8-4 all-time against Salem, formerly Salem International, including five straight wins in the series. Malone caged the Tigers 81-75 in an overtime road matchup a season ago. Against Seton Hill, Malone is 5-5. The two teams met last November for the first time in the DII era with the Griffins prevailing 64-53 in Canton.
Malone Notes
- Malone opened the season last Friday with a 67-47 win at Lake Superior State, but stumbled 75-47 against UIndy on Saturday.
- Pioneer senior Sydney Wentling scored 18 points, one shy of a career-high, and pulled down a career-high nine rebounds in the win Friday.
- Senior forward Ellen Doyle, who scored a career-high 25 vs. Salem last season, totaled a team-high 17 points in the loss Saturday. Against Seton Hill last season, Doyle secured a career-high 13 rebounds.
- Freshman Alexis Hutchison scored 18 points in the two games last week on a team-high 53.3% shooting.
- Sophomore Robin Campbell added 17 points and a team-high five steals.
- Malone has lost three straight home openers coming into this Wednesday's contest.
Salem Notes
- Following an exhibition loss against West Virginia University, Salem opened the season last Saturday with a 118-70 win over Miami University-Hamilton.
- Nia Bishop and Nerea Arambarri Fernandez each scored a team-high 21 points in the win.
- Endia Jones, who hit a game-tying three with no time remaining to force overtime last season, scored a team-high 15 points in last season's meeting with Malone.
Seton Hill Notes
- The Griffins began their season with a 93-82 win over Concord and a 93-73 win at Fairmont State. Their 93 points-per-game scoring average ranks fifth in DII after the opening weekend.
- Cheyenne Trest and Lexi Civittolo each averaged 16 points in the two victories. Trest scored a team-high 15 points at Malone in 2018.
