Men's Soccer Returns Home to Play Ohio Valley and Alderson Broaddus

The Malone University men's soccer team will play host to Ohio Valley University and Alderson Broaddus University for Great Midwest Athletic Conference games this weekend. Malone will face each of these teams for the second time this season, starting with a 2 pm matinee against the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots on Thursday, October 10 followed by a 3:30 pm first kick on Saturday, October 12 versus the Alderson Broaddus Battlers.

Previous Matchups:
Malone dropped both matches earlier in the year to Ohio Valley and Alderson Broaddus, both games were on the road. The Pioneers fell to the Fighting Scots 3-0 and lost to the Battlers 1-0 in overtime.

In the last game against nationally-ranked Lake Erie, Nathan McFeaters scored his team-high third goal of the season. He is tied with Patrick Alvarez for most shots taken for the Pioneers in 2019 with 12.
 
Simon Eybert and Gino Finelli follow closely behind with 11 and 10 shots.
 
Jake Martell and Nick Fry each have an assist this season. Both of which are on a defensive unit with Jonathan Dendinger and Jeff Kreinbrook.

Ohio Valley is coming off a 3-2 victory over Ohio Dominican last weekend. The Fighting Scots have one of the most prolific offenses in the G-MAC, with a conference-high 18.33 shots per game.
 
Juan Hoyos (28), David Bercado (27), and Nicolas Rodriguez (21) are the team's leading shot takers. Bercado has five goals on the year, including two game-winning goals.
 
Santiago Rojas started in goal the first seven matches, however Stevens Velez has started for the Fighting Scots in their most recent matchups against Cedarville and Ohio Dominican.

Record: 4-4-1 (3-2-1)
 
Before facing the Pioneers on Saturday, Alderson Broaddus will square off with Walsh on Thursday night. In their last contest, the Battlers lost versus Cedarville 3-0. Alderson Broaddus has played a majority of their games on the road this season, and they are 2-4-1 overall away from home.

Nevado Elliot leads the G-MAC in most shots taken with 42. His teammate Yannick Koffi is not far behind with 32 shots on the season. Elliot leads the team with three goals scored.
 
Goalkeeper Eduardo D'Avino has started seven games this season and has made 36 saves. Miro Diallo anchors the Battler defense and leads the team in minutes on the pitch with 789.
