The Malone University women's soccer team will square off with Trevecca Nazarene University and Kentucky Wesleyan College this weekend. The Pioneers will make the distant voyage to Nashville, Tennessee to play the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans on Thursday, October 17 at 5:30 pm (4:30 pm CDT). After the match, they will make the trip north on Interstate 65 and face the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers on Saturday, October 19 at 1 pm (12 pm CDT).

Malone will look to reverse their fortune against the Trojans this weekend. All-time, the Pioneers are 0-3-1 versus Great Midwest Athletic Conference opponent Trevecca Nazarene. Last season, Malone made the trip to the Music City and the game ended in a scoreless draw.
 
The Pioneers hold a 1-3-0 record against the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan. In 2018, Malone fell in a road match 2-1. The Pioneer goal was scored by Kirsten Hilty.

Malone is rolling as a team right now and come into this weekend's matches winners of four straight, including three consecutive shutout conference wins. It is the first time since 2009 that the Pioneers have held opponents scoreless for three matches in a row. Goalkeeper Haleigh Seman and defenders Lindsey Soltisz, Natalie Martorana, Andrea Fink and Brooke Lindenschmidt have been extraordinary on the backline over this stretch and have given up a conference-low four goals in eight games.
 
The Pioneers sit third in the G-MAC standings with four conference wins and 12 points. On the road, Malone is 3-0 this season. Four road wins in a season is the most the Pioneer women have achieved since joining the G-MAC. Malone has broken into the Midwest Regional Rankings at number 10 this week.
 
The Pioneers are firing off shots at a rapid pace, outshooting opponents 149-71 on the year. They took 21 shots in a 6-0 win over Alderson Broaddus last week, the second highest shot total in a game for Malone. The Pioneer scoring offense is ranked 2nd in the Midwest Region for DII.
 
Danielle Lung recorded her second hat trick of the season against Alderson Broaddus and was named G-MAC Offensive Soccer Athlete of the Week. Her 10 goals this season place her second in the conference for most goals scored and tied for 16th in the DII national rankings.
 
Sally Culig netted her first career goal as a member of the Pioneer women's soccer team last weekend and Kirsten Hilty scored her fourth goal of the season versus the Battlers, placing her second on the team in goals scored.
 
Freshman forward Payton Beech is second on the team in shots on goal with 12 and Keeley Malley has put up 19 total shots and has tallied three goals in her role off the bench.

Most recently, the Trojans dropped two conference matches to Lake Erie and Ursuline. Trevecca Nazarene has picked up three conference wins this season against Tiffin, Cedarville and Kentucky Wesleyan.
 
Trevecca Nazarene is no stranger to playing in big games like the two they will host this weekend against Malone and Walsh. Early in the season, the Trojans faced nationally-ranked West Florida and Lee University.
 
It has been a struggle for Trevecca Nazarene to find the back of the net recently and the Trojans have fallen to the bottom of the conference in goals scored with seven in 12 games. Annie Warner has two goals, along with one goal apiece from Gigi Ariola, Makena Schlosser, Danyel Joy, Abbigail Legg and Kimberly Jobe. Schlosser holds the team lead with 28 shots taken, followed by Legg with 19.
 
Delayna Holman has been the netminder for the Trojans for all 11 games in 2019. She has made 60 saves and has one shutout.

Kentucky Wesleyan goes up against Walsh on Thursday before playing the Pioneers on Saturday. The last time the Panthers took the pitch, they won 3-1 versus Lake Erie.
 
Kentucky Wesleyan is tied with Malone with 22 goals this season, putting both teams at the top of the conference in goals scored.
 
Madisyn Hunt leads the G-MAC with 13 goals scored on the season. She also has assisted on four goals, giving her a grand total of 30 points accumulated to top all players in the conference. Hunt had a 5-goal game against Berea in an early season non-conference affair. Hunt and Sarah Haleman are tied for the team lead with four assists.
 
Shelby Taylor and Madeline Clemons lead the team in minutes played this season. In goal, Taylor Rentchler has made 75 saves on 172 shots faced.
