The Malone University women's basketball team continues Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play this week with a pair games against Davis & Elkins College on Thursday, January 24th and Alderson Broaddus University this Saturday, January 26th.

All three teams are on the outside looking in to the top-8 spots in
G-MAC Standings and a postseason berth in March. For the Pioneers, who will head back out on the road for their next four league games, this weekend's games will be critical for separating themselves from the back of the pack while simultaneously keeping pace with the conference leaders.

Series History
The Pioneers are 2-2 all-time against Davis & Elkins, although they lost both games against the Senators last season. Malone dropped the first game 74-71 early in the year at home and 74-53 later in the season in Elkins.

Against Alderson Broaddus, Malone is 5-1 all-time, including four straight wins over the Battlers over the past two seasons. Last year, the Pioneers claimed a 62-50 victory in Canton before topping AB 57-46 later in the year at Philippi.
Malone Notes
- The Pioneers, who have played nine of their last 11 games on the road, are coming off a 64-42 loss at Ursuline on Monday in which the Arrows used a 26-2 second-half run to pull away for the win.
- Four days prior, Malone played its best game of the season, shooting 50% in a dominating 76-46 triumph at Lake Erie in which they led by as many as 37 points.
- Freshman point guard Robin Campbell flirted with a triple-double in that win, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists to go along with a season-high four steals.
- On the season, Campbell leads Malone in scoring (13.8 ppg), rebounds (5.8 rpg), and assists (62) and is second on the team in steals (15). She ranks sixth in the G-MAC in points, fifth in assists, and third in minutes (35.5 mpg). Over the last five games, Campbell is scoring 16.8 points an outing.
- During the same five-game span, junior forward Ellen Doyle has been outstanding on the offensive end, averaging 13 points while shooting 58.1% (25-of-43) from the field and 62.5% (10-of-16) from deep. Overall this season, she leads the team in shooting (44.6%) and is second in the team in scoring (9.3 ppg).
- Senior guard Chrissie Vaughan and junior guard Sydney Wentling are each tossing in 7.8 points per game this season.
- Vaughan also leads the team with 16 steals and has made a three-pointer in 22 consecutive games. She enters this game needing just 10 points to reach 900 for her career. Vaughan scored at least 10 points in three of the four games against D&E and AB last season, including a team-high 14 in the home win over the Battlers.
- Senior forward Naomi Grandison (7.0 ppg), who enters the week with exactly 600 career points, scored a team-high 15 in the road win over AB last season.
- Senior guard Paiten Strother (6.1 ppg), who has been primarily a defensive stopper for the Pioneers, scored a season-high 14 points in the win at Alderson Broaddus last season. More recently, Strother totaled 16 points – the second-most in her career – in last week's win at Lake Erie.
- Malone enters the weekend as the number three ranked scoring defense in the G-MAC. At home, the Pioneers are just 2-4, but only one opponent has scored more than 64 points.

- Overall, the Senators are just 1-7 in the last eight games, including a 64-62 loss at Tiffin and a 69-53 loss at Cedarville in two games last week.
- Senior forward Kali Wilburn scored a game-high 21 points in the loss on Cedarville. On the season, she leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. In the two victories against Malone last season, she averaged 17 points.
- Sophomore guard Colleena Burdock is second on the team in scoring (9.4 ppg). She also leads the team with 52 assists and leads the G-MAC with 40 steals.

- Freshman guard Jeana Weatherspoon scored a team-high 14 points at Tiffin. On the season, she leads the squad with 9.0 points per game.
- Senior forward Yasmin Norman (8.4 ppg) leads the team and ranks fifth in the G-MAC with 6.9 rebounds per game.
- All three wins for the Battlers have been on the road where they are 3-5 overall and 3-4 in conference games.
