In a game rescheduled from Saturday because of Winter Storm Harper, the Malone University women's basketball team went to Ursuline College on Monday afternoon and came out on the losing end of a 64-42 decision in Pepper Pike.
Just four days after a 76-46 win over Lake Erie in which Malone shot a season-high 50% from the field, the Pioneers shot only 30.8% and scored a season-low 42 points in Monday's loss. Ursuline, meanwhile, used a 26-2 second-half run to pull away and improve to 6-11 on the season and 5-6 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Malone dropped to 6-11 and 4-7 in the G-MAC.

The Pioneers led for the majority of the first quarter after a pair of three-pointers from
Ellen Doyle and
Chrissie Vaughan gave them an 8-3 lead. The Arrows, however, outscored Malone 9-1 down the stretch to end the first quarter and then opened the second quarter on an 8-2 rally to go ahead 20-11,
Malone countered with seven straight points, including five from
Sydney Wentling to close to within two points at 20-18, but the Arrows used another 8-2 run to grab a 28-20 lead going into halftime.
The Pioneers opened the second half on their own 8-2 run and brought the score to within two points once again at 30-28 at the 7:47 mark. From there, though, it was all Ursuline.
The Arrows ended the third quarter on a 20-0 run to extend their lead to 50-28. On the first possession of the fourth quarter, Wentling stopped Malone's eight-minute scoring drought with a layup, but the Arrows scored the next six points to make it a 56-30 contest with 7:15 left to play.
The 26-2 run accounted for the difference in the final score as Ursuline cruised to the 64-42 triumph.
Game Highlights
-Malone, who scored the final five points of the game, went 16-of-52 (30.8%) from the field and just 5-of-24 (20.8%) from three. The Pioneers were 5-of-6 at the free throw line.
-Ursuline, overall, shot 25-of-64 (39.1%) and 5-of-14 (35.7%) from three. The Arrows were 9-of-11 at the charity stripe.
-Ursuline outrebounded Malone 41-32, including a 14-8 advantage on the offensive glass, and outscored the Pioneers 15-6 in second chances.
-The Arrows turned 17 Malone turnovers into a 22-9 edge in points off turnovers and a 14-2 lead in the fastbreak. The Ursuline bench also outscored Malone's 22-9.
Malone Individual Highlights
-Doyle finished with a game-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals.

Robin Campbell totaled 11 points, a game-high seven rebounds, and four assists.
-Wentling tallied seven points and three assists.
-Vaughan, who extended her streak of games with at least one three-pointer to 22 straight, went for five points, four rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal.
Ursuline Individual Highlights
-Ky Crevison led her team with 11 points, four assists, and three steals.
-Sarah Lairson and Jennah Taylor contributed 10 points apiece.
