After a week's worth of weather postponements, the Malone University softball team is scheduled to be back in action at home on Monday with a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader against Ohio Dominican University.  The Pioneers will then face Davis & Elkins College at home on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.

Series History

• The Panthers hold a 38-11 lead in the all-time series.  The two teams last met on April 19, 2016 with ODU prevailing in both games.  Overall, the Panthers have won eight straight against the Pioneers. 

• The Pioneers are 3-4 all-time against Davis & Elkins. The two teams split a pair of doubleheaders in Canton last season.

• The Pioneers started off conference play with a pair of victories against Ohio Valley last week.

• Malone got complete game performances from Isabella Roberts and Samantha Fruchey in the double-header.

• Roberts has started the season off 4-0, going the distance in all four of her starts. Her 1.85 ERA is the third-best in the conference. Malone's pitching staff is posting a 2.42 ERA, the second-best in the conference.

• Freshman, Bailey Byers, is leading the team with a .391 batting average. Nine of her sixteen hits on the season have been extra-base hits (6 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homeruns). Her .696 slugging percentage leads the G-MAC.

• The Panthers had lost six in a row before rolling to a doubleheader sweep at Walsh University on Saturday by scores of 12-3 and 14-0

• On top of scoring 26 runs in the two games against Walsh, ODU's pitching staff limited the Cavaliers to seven hits in the two contests

• Shortstop and leadoff hitter Taylor Kline leads the G-MAC in runs scored (25); In Saturday's opener, she went 3-for-5 at the plate with a triple and three RBI's

Record: 5-9 (0-0 G-MAC)

• Like Malone, Davis & Elkins was unable to play last week due to weather postponements.  In fact, the Senators have been idle since March 15 when they lost a pair of contests at Glenville State College.

• Alyssa Cairns is batting a team-high .382 on the season with five doubles.  Alexis Smith paces the team with seven RBI's in 14 games.

• Allie Lapallo has registered a 3-4 record in the circle, striking out 36 batters over her 38.2 innings of work.
