Malone Team Notes

Record: 17-7 (10-6)

  • The Pioneers are currently on a five-game winning streak, including huge wins over Findlay, who was previously undefeated in conference play, and Hillsdale, who has the second best record in the conference. Due to its hot streak, Malone has climbed up to fourth in the G-MAC standings and could continue to climb if their winning ways persist. Malone is a half game behind Walsh in the conference standings, and a full game behind Hillsdale in the standings.

  • Ty Jordan was named the G-MAC Player of the Week last week for his performances in wins over Cedarville, Findlay, and Hillsdale. Jordan scored 26 points in both the Cedarville and Findlay games. He then scored 17 points, all in the second half, in the win over Hillsdale.

  • The Pioneers got hot from beyond the arc in their victories over the #1 and #2 teams in the conference, shooting over 50% from three-point land in those contests. On the season the Pioneers are shooting the three-pointer at a conference-leading 38.9%.

  • Malone is averaging 78.8 points per game and are holding opponents to 69.8 points per game. Both of those statistics are third best in the conference.

  • A large part of the Pioneers' success on the offensive end of the floor is their ability to move to the ball. The team is averaging 16.6 assists per game. Only Ohio Dominican's 16.7 assists per game lead the Pioneers. Daylan Haynie and Ty Jordan are each in the top five in assists in the conference.

  • Kentucky Wesleyan is second in the conference in blocked shots. The Panthers block 5.0 shots each game. Dakota Quinn leads the conference in blocked shot with 2.6 per game.

  • Daniel Dzierzawski is leading the team in scoring, averaging 12.8 points per game. Brandon Hatton is trailing him, scoring 12.1 points per game.

Trevecca Nazarene Notes Schedule | Roster | Statistics

Record: 4-19 (3-12)

  • The Trojans have lost four straight games, but their most recent two games each went into double overtime. The Trojans have not yet been eliminated from the conference tournament, but they would need something very special to happen going into the final five games of the season in order to get in.

  • The Trojans are one of the best free-throw shooting teams in the conference. They are third in the G-MAC in free-throw percentage, making 71.8% of their attempts.

  • Jacob Williams leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.1 points per game.

  • Mehdi El Mardi has grabbed 69 offensive rebounds this season, the most of anyone in the conference.
